New Job Posting - Product Specialist / Technical Service Engineer (Medical & Laboratory Equipment )

Work Location: Lai Chi Kok Head Office

Work Schedule:
5 days per week (Monday to Friday), 9am to 6pm.
Extensive travel within HK is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Business Development: Promote equipment reliability to hospitals, government departments, and universities through high-quality technical support. Support the sales team by providing the technical assurance needed to win new accounts.
  • Market Expansion: Identify opportunities for equipment placement in new departments (e.g., expanding from a hospital pharmacy to university research labs) during service visits.
  • Sales Lead Conversion: Provide the technical "final push" by delivering expert presentations that resolve a prospect’s technical doubts. Ensure smooth equipment commissioning to turn a one-time purchase into a long-term service contract.
  • Product Demonstration: Conduct hands-on demonstrations of specialised equipment like electric cast saws and tablet crushers. Perform user training sessions to ensure hospital and laboratory staff are proficient and safe.
  • Customer Relationship Cultivation: Foster long-term trust with clinical and laboratory staff through regular preventive maintenance and responsive after-sales care.
  • Consultative Selling: Advise clients on the best technical solutions for their needs, such as choosing between a blood bank refrigerator and a standard medical freezer based on compliance requirements.
  • Issue Resolution: Manage on-site troubleshooting and corrective repairs. Act as the technical bridge between local customers and overseas suppliers to resolve complex machinery failures.
  • Strategic Feedback: Analyse recurring equipment failures or user errors to provide the management team with data-driven feedback on product quality.
  • Sales Coordination & Operations: Coordinate with suppliers to ensure all technical manuals, installation requirements, and parts are ready for delivery. Prepare detailed service reports that the sales team can use for billing or contract renewals.
  • Tender & Inventory Strategy: Provide technical specifications and maintenance cost estimates for tender submissions. Advise on the inventory of spare parts needed to ensure minimal downtime for critical equipment like cold-chain storage.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in setting up and demonstrating equipment at medical conferences, technical seminars, or university workshops.
  • Sales Operations & Market Intelligence Updates: Stay updated on new medical equipment regulations (e.g., energy standards for medical freezers) and brief the team on how these affect the current portfolio.
  • Activity Tracking: Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history logs, and CRM entries for every service call or installation.
  • Competitive Analysis: Observe and report on competitor equipment (e.g., other brands of ice makers or laboratory freezers) seen in the field, noting their strengths or weaknesses.

Requirements

  • Education: Higher Diploma or above in Engineering for Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in medical device servicing, laboratory equipment, refrigeration systems, biomedical equipment or technical support.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in MS Office and AI tools to enhance administrative efficiency and reporting.
  • Attributes: Highly organised, responsible, and capable of working independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset are standard benchmarks
