New Job Posting - Technical Sales Executive / Product Specialist (Pharma RM & Lab Chemicals)

Work Location: Lai Chi Kok Head Office

Work Schedule:
5 days per week (Monday to Friday), 9am to 6pm.
Extensive travel within HK is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales & Business Development: Promote pharmaceutical raw materials, excipients, and laboratory chemicals to manufacturers and laboratories. Identify and target key stakeholders within pharmaceutical factories and QC labs.
  • Market Expansion: Assist in identifying new products and market opportunities to broaden the current portfolio. Analyse territory potential during weekly factory and laboratory visits.
  • Sales Lead Conversion: Proactively follow up on customer enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings to close deals. Transform initial interest from promotional materials into formal quotations.
  • Product Demonstration: Conduct on-site visits (1–2 days per week) to provide technical explanations of APIs and reagents. Present product introductions and technical specifications to lab managers and procurement teams.
  • Customer Relationship Cultivation: Develop and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with a diverse client base. Ensure consistent engagement through regular follow-ups and personalised service.
  • Consultative Selling: Prepare and update technical documents and specifications to act as a subject matter expert. Tailor product recommendations (e.g., specific reference standards or GMP chemicals) to the client’s unique production needs.
  • Issue Resolution: Coordinate with overseas suppliers to resolve technical and commercial discrepancies. Address customer documentation requests and technical hurdles during the qualification process.
  • Strategic Feedback: Provide insights gathered from field visits regarding customer needs and product performance to the management team.
  • Sales Coordination & Operations: Prepare accurate quotations and manage the flow of technical documents between the supplier and the customer. Liaise with overseas suppliers on commercial matters to ensure smooth order processing.
  • Tender & Inventory Strategy: Support and execute tender submissions, ensuring all technical and compliance documentation is met. Monitor stock requirements based on customer forecast and tender wins.
  • Event Coordination: Organise and manage customer meetings, technical seminars, and site visits to pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Sales Operations & Market Intelligence Updates: Monitor global supplier updates regarding new chemical grades or regulatory changes and relay them to the local market. Identify shifts in the pharmaceutical landscape (e.g., new GMP requirements).
  • Activity Tracking: Maintain meticulous CRM records and updated customer interaction logs. Generate regular sales reports to track progress against targets.
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor market trends and competitor product offerings while identifying gaps in the current market for new product adoption.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree or Higher Diploma in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, laboratory chemical sales, API/excipient trading, QC laboratory support, or scientific product sales.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in MS Office and AI tools to enhance administrative efficiency and reporting.
  • Attributes: Highly organised, responsible, and capable of working independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset are standard benchmarks.
